Tired of Taylor Swift?

Taylor Swift... What can I say about her... I'm sorry if your a Swiftie, but I do not really like her. She is not my favorite singer. I will admit though she has a few good songs.
This 23 year-old was bullied as a child and that is how she started her music career. Swift begged music producers to listen to her songs live. When she was bullied she would go home and play her guitar. Taylor would let her emotions out through music. She would spend hours playing, sometimes even to the point where her fingers would bleed.
Even though she was bullied as a kid she still grew up to be very successful in the world of music. Her first album Tear Drops On My Guitar stole the hearts of millions of people. Now that she has been around for so long I feel like people are getting less interested in her country/pop songs. If you're a directioner (fan of One Direction), you already know the other reason why a lot of people are losing interest in her music and just in her, in general.
The public eye think that Taylor Swift is too caught up in love. She has had many boyfriends, including the famous Harry Styles from One Direction. People are seeing Taylor as a player. I don't think that she should be judged on who she dates but I also think she should just stop dating SO many people. It's like she never takes a break from her love life. I mean look at me, I have been single since October and I am still coming along just fine. You don't need a partner to have fun in life, friends and family is all you need.
An upside to these many relationship is that heartbreak normally gives more inspiration for writing songs. Swift just came out with her album "Red" this year. I think that this album has really pleased all the swifties out there. My personal favorite on that album is Ronan, the song about a little four year-old boy who died of cancer. It is a tear-jerker but it is an AMAZING song.(Link is down below) But that is one of the only songs that I like by her.
Sorry if a Swiftie is reading this, I don't want you to feel like I am completely trashing your idol. At least I said a few good things in there. Despite all Taylor's fame and success, I just feel like she is a grown women who has her mind stuck in middle school.
If you liked it please share this to other people and comment below.

Addicted to Adele

Adele, a singer dear to our hearts that is known for singing about heartbreak. She was born as Adele Laurie Blue Adkins in the UK. Adele was discovered through the social networking site, Myspace, in 2006 when her friend posted her demo. In 2007 she won the Brit Awards "Critics Choice". Her powerful pop/R&B Soul music started creeping up the charts.
Her album "19" was released in 2008. When she appeared on Saturday Night Live in that same year, 2008, it only boosted her musical career. At the 2009 Grammy Awards she received two awards, Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Performance.
In 2011 when her next album "21" came out she won many other awards. It would take forever to list all the awards Adele has won over her musical career. In 2012 she won six Grammy awards! All of the awards she has won reflects on her career. People all over the world enjoy her soothing and peaceful music.
I think that people like her music because it is so much different from everything else that is popular right now. The public can really relate to her songs because all of us have had heart breaks before. Even though Adele is very popular in the music business, you never really see a lot about her in magazines for the wrong reasons. Celebrities are put into magazines and websites because of the paparazzi, but most of the time people have only one mean thing that they could say about her.
The only thing that I have ever heard ANYONE make fun of Adele about is her weight. I don't think that her weight is that much of an issue. Where I heard this from, you might ask? I heard it from Joan Rivers. She said, "Rolling In the Deep should have been called Rolling In the Deep Fried Chicken." Don't worry, I wouldn't listen to anything Rivers has to say. She was also trashing Ann Curry, Tom Cruise, and Jay Leno. I think that Adele shows that beautiful comes in all different shapes and sizes. I don't think that Adele should worry about her weight because her looks don't really matter, it's what's on the inside that counts. To me it's not about the artists public persona or appearance, it's about the music they make.
I don't know about you guys but I am DYING for her next album to come out. It is rumored to come out in mid-2014. I'm excited to hear the new songs that she is currently recording at Columbia Records.  But overall whatever her next album brings to us Adele will always have a special place in my heart! <3 And my favorite song by her is off the 21 album called One and Only and I have the link below.

Just In Justin Bieber

Whether you are a hater or a belieber, JB is one of the most well-known celebrity in the world! This Canadian singer has been  on the charts since I was in about 4th grade (4 years ago). Justin's most famous song that almost everybody knows is Baby. This collaboration with Ludacris was VERY popular. All of his haters said that his voice was too high for a boy and called him gay. Obviously they haven't heard "Boyfriend". Justin Bieber has grown up since he first was discovered on YouTube. He has gone through puberty and his voice has gotten deeper.
Most of his beliebers have been there for him throughout his whole career. Most are excited for his new album, Breathe, to come out this summer, August 2013. Like most fandoms, they have many almost inside jokes that only beliebers would get. And example is how people have named Justin's body parts. If you say the name Jerry, beliebers will laugh. Everyday in gym class my friend and I only pick up the purple balls because that is Justin's favorite color. Also one time Justin was reading a poster that his fan was holding up and it said "I'd let your Bieberconda slither into my 'zoo' any day." If you don't know what the Bieberconda is then...well... I'm not going to explain it.
Justin has some pretty crazy fans. They also went pretty crazy when people were saying that Justin was caught smoking marijuana. I don't think that people should have freaked out because he probably was just trying it. Everyone tries it at least once in their lives, but I also don't think that Justin should have done that. That is not a very appropriate approach to a younger audience. Bieber probably didn't think that anyone would find out though.
Apparently Justin has been having behavior problems lately, smoking weed, speeding tickets, attacking the press. I wouldn't blame all of this on Justin though. I think that if I was that famous and I had the paparazzi up my butt all the time too I would also go a little crazy. People were also saying that since he has been hanging out with Lil Twist, Justin has been getting into trouble. The public has been thinking that Lil Twist is being a bad influence. I disagree with that because Justin will always be himself no matter who he is with. I think that people should be able to hang out with whoever they want without being judged.
Despite his crazy life and rough patches in his career, Justin Bieber is a great musician. Most of his music is about love but that's how a lot of music today is. My favorite song by Bieber is "Pray", made in 2010. If you don't know the song, check it out!!

Macklemore

Any of you heard the rapper Macklemore? Maybe you know him by his song "Thrift Shop". Macklemore is one of the most famous white rappers out in the music business. His real name is Ben Haggerty but when he started his career in 2000, he changed it to Macklemore. He started collaborating with producer Ryan Lewis, a trumpeter Owuor Arunga, and a violinist named Andrew Joslyn.
I know what your thinking, I didn't even know that Macklemore existed in 2000? Neither did I. He actually had an online fanbase and had music on YouTube. That is how his video for Thrift Shop was viewed over 300 million times and made number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Chart. The song had over 2.2 million copies sold!
That is not his only song though. I have been noticing his song Can't Hold Us has been very popular lately. Everyday in the morning I watch VH1 and Fuse TV and the music video is always playing.
Recently I was listening to Pandora Radio and a song came on. I looked to see what song it was because the first few seconds was a piano playing. The song was called "Same Love" by Macklemore. When I listened to the whole song I instantly fell in LOVE with it! I think that it sends a very strong message to the world about Gay Rights. Macklemore himself supports gay marriage (obviously if he made a song about it). When I listened to it I thought, "Is Macklemore gay?" There is some debate with this topic. According to Chicago Now, Macklemore said that he doesn't really know himself if he's gay or not.
In the song he said he questioned himself when he was younger whether he was gay or not. He thought that certain characteristics that made you gay or straight. Thinking that because he kept his room clean and because his uncle was gay, that made him gay. He also thought that because he was good at baseball that made him straight. I thought the message was very strong and really opens up people's eyes about gay marriage and rights.
Whether he is stealing your grandpa's style or your heart, Macklemore is a very excellent role model towards other people because of what message he displays through music.

Carrot (:
